WalkAbout Tile serves the Winston-Salem, Clemmons, High Point, Greensboro and Triad area. Of course, we welcome all customers!
We carry a variety of tile products — from large manufacturers to smaller artisans from all over the world.
We offer custom tile, glass tile, Jerusalem tile, pavers and more! We have stock tiles from manufacturers that other tile stores and home improvement stores offer, but our custom and specialty tiles really set us apart.
We offer custom tile work for any room in your house. Bring us a drawing or picture of your idea, and we can design it. Or we can create a custom design for you.

HOW WALKABOUT TILE BEGAN... Stacy Lavery, born and raised in Advance, NC, grew up in the construction industry and eventually worked for dad, Jimmy Zimmerman, a local home builder. Working for her dad, she was exposed to all aspects of building.
After a few years working in construction, she moved to Charlotte and worked as a waitress to put herself through college. While in Charlotte, she answered an ad in the paper to work on a cruise ship. Having an adventurous spirit and excited about the opportunity to travel, she was offered the job and decided to take it. Stacy met people from all over the world at her job on the cruise ship. One of those people turned out to be her future husband. He was a native of Australia.
The couple really hit it off, and talked about marriage. He joked that if she would come to Australia with him on a 6,000 mile journey exploring the Australian Outback on motorcycle — and they were still together after that — then marriage just might be in their near future. Stacy agreed to make the journey, and ended up having an experience she will never forget. Stacy said that the trip made her appreciate the incredible beauty and uniqueness of Australia.
Soon after their journey through the Outback, the couple was married. Stacy and her husband, Brett, moved to Advance, NC where they managed her father's construction company for 9 years. They oversaw every aspect of the building process, from the pouring of the foundation to the installation of tile, which Stacy and Brett did themselves.
One day Brett suggested that they open their own tile store, since they now had about 10 years of tile installation experience. Stacy loved the idea and decided on the name "WalkAbout Tile"... and the rest is history!
